William A. "Uncle Bill" Fish, 81, Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007. He was born September 21, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A long time resident of Topeka, Bill spent most of his life as a professional musician. He loved to travel, enjoyed mountain climbing, long distance biking and was a pilot. As a professional musician, he played with Big Bands from Kansas City to New Orleans, later playing in clubs all over Topeka and the surrounding area. He loved people, his animals, and most of all music. He is survived by his surrogate family, David J. Lloyd, Bobby Campa and family, including his little angels; Bryanna, Andrew and Alyssa. Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
