William "Bill" L. Palmer, 64, Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014. He was born March 26, 1950 in Burlington, Colorado the son of Elmer L. and Eva M (Grefe) Palmer.
Bill graduated from Emporia High School in 1968. After graduation he entered the Army and served from 1969 to 1972, being stationed in Korea for a time. After he served his country, he worked in the automotive industry and also for the City of Topeka. He later retired in 2010 from the City of Topeka after 27 years of service.
On December 29, 1968, he married Mary Myers in Emporia. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Palmer of Wichita, KS, Dawn Keller and her husband Spence of Topeka, KS and Cheryl Cockerham and her husband Ryan of Wichita, KS; 2 grandchildren, William Keller and Riley Cockerham; two sisters, Shirley Depew, of Emporia and Betty Rhoads, of Neosho Rapids; and two brothers, Jerry Palmer of Roseville, CA and Alvin Palmer of Raytown, MO. He was preceded in death by both his father and mother.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 19 at First Church of the Nazarene in Topeka, Kansas at 2:00 p.m
