William Lewis

William "Bill" Lewis, 65, of Topeka, passed away Dec. 24, 2011. Bill was born August 19, 1946, in Topeka, KS, the son of Fred and Mary (Conroy) Lewis. He was a graduate of Hayden High School and later joined the United States Navy. Bill owned and operated Lewis Repair Service in Topeka, for many years. He enjoyed every aspect of racing, automobiles, and NASCAR. Bill was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple in Topeka.

He is survived by a son, John, of Topeka; and grandsons, Nick and Gavin, of Topeka, and David, of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; and son, Michael.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606. Bill will lie in state after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.
