William Mcadoo

William "Bill" McAdoo, 89, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022.

He was born January 15, 1933, in Eldorado, Kansas, the son of Owen H. and Amanda J. (Imhoof) McAdoo.

Bill graduated from High School in 1951 from Eldorado, Kansas. He later went on to attend Butler County Community College graduated with an Associate's Degree in 1953. He furthered his education and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1961 from the University of Kansas. He was a member of the National Basketball Champion team.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.

Bill was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer and retired after 31 years of service.

Bill was a Chief Master Instructor for Shawnee County Hunter's Safety.

Bill married Beverly Ann Rutherford on November 22, 1953 in Eldorado, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2018.

Survivors include his children, Leanne (Larry) Mangan, Scott (Fran) McAdoo and Gary McAdoo; his grandchildren, Paul (Melissa) Mangan, Kacee (Richard) Clift, John (Tracia) McAdoo, Sam (Danielle) McAdoo, Allison (Cody) Hansmeier; his great-granchildren, Michelle Mangan, Alex Mangan, Micaela Mangan, Lexi Clift, R.J. Clift, Colten Clift, Urban Clift, Tegan McAdoo, Vonley McAdoo and Ember Hansmeier.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his six brothers, Walter, James, Kenneth, Donald, Gene and Murl; his three sisters, Mildred, Fern and Nellie.

Honoring Bill's request, cremation is planned. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Inurnment of Bill's cremated remains will follow.
