He was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka.

Mac married Betty Jean Hillebert on June 8, 1963 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1998. He married Nancy A. Bartee on June 10, 2000 in Topeka. She survives.
