William Oliver "June/Bugg" Dillard, Jr., 43, an angel of God, went home to be with his father, Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born May 25, 1970 at Topeka to William Dillard, Sr. and Nancy Gatewood Dillard.
"June" attended Topeka Public Schools and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1988. After high school, June became an entrepreneur, selling varies items such as sunglasses, purses, shoes and many more. He then began working at the Topeka State Hospital in 1990 as a Behavioral Health Tech. June began a career at Hope Street Academy, where he first discovered his passion and dedication working with children. He worked there for 15 years until he became ill in 2013.
June was well known for his compassion and shining smile. June's concern for other people was remarkable which gave them a sense of comfort that made them smile. He was a comedian at heart and loved to impersonate his family and friends. June was well dressed and liked to be the cleanest man on the scene. He had a style that no one could compete with matching from head to toe. The best times of June's life were being with his children. He enjoyed taking them to restaurants, riding in the truck and to all events and family functions. He also had a love for music and enjoyed singing, rapping and hanging out with his boys. June had an awesome demeanor that was contagious and shined through to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Oliver "Stunt" Dillard Sr., and is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Dillard. June is also survived by his two beautiful children, Tamyra Shabrae Norwood, 14 & Tariq Korleon Dillard, 12 of Topeka, KS, his two siblings, Derek W. Dillard, of Houston, TX and LaNae D. Williams, Phoenix, AZ.
June leaves to cherish his memories his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who will commemorate together as he makes his way home.
His Home Going service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 28th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
