William T. "Bill" Hipsher, 80, of Topeka, formerly of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was born August 7, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of George and Frances N. (DeGraff) Hipsher.
Bill was employed as a scale mechanic by the G. S. Barber/WH Scale Company for 34 years, retiring in 1995. He was a proud member of the N.R.A.
Bill married Mary Holmes on January 5, 1980 in Topeka. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Terri Nichole Foster of Lodi, California; brother, George Hipsher, Jr. of Topeka; 5 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and pets (kids), Molly and Heidi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; one son, William Anthony "Tony" Hipsher in 1983 and 2 step-sons, Robert H. Smith in 1985 and Joe C. Smith in 1999.
Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing and animals.
Bill was cremated. No services will be held. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Saturday, January 10th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, Saving Death Row Dogs or the Capper Foundation.
