Willie Mae Jordan

Willie Mae Jordan, 64, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2007 at a Columbia, MO hospital. She was born on October 18, 1942 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the daughter of Willie and Tennie Lee Spriggs Purnell. She had resided in Topeka since 1983 before moving to Columbia in 2004. Survivors include her children, Maxine McCoy-Hamilton (AD), Timothy Townsend (Kristian), Gregory Jordan all of Columbia, MO, Lamar Jordan, Barbara Jordan, Victoria Jordan, Bernice Stewart, Rose Townsend, Michael Jordan and Willie B. Jordan all of Topeka, thirty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four brothers, CD Purnell of Chicago, John L. Williams, AC Williams (Anita) and Lee Andrew Williams (Bertha) all of Columbia and three sisters, Lissie Ann Purnell, Ethel Mae Williams and Denise Sanders (Bruce) all of Topeka. Services will be held at Noon Friday at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 2420 S.E. Bellview. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Ms. Jordan will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
