Wilma I. Dunbar, 82, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Wilma was born June 5, 1929 in Falls City, NE, the daughter of William and Vera (Duerfeldt) Haeffele.
She graduated from Falls City High School in 1947.
She worked at the Scandia Savings & Loan in Des Moines, IA, and was a Real Estate agent in Topeka with Greenbrier Real Estate.
She had been a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Atchison and had attended St. David's Episcopal Church in Topeka.
She was an avid bridge player, loved to cook, knit and sew.
Wilma married Paul Dunbar on April 1, 1950 in Lincoln, NE. He survives of the home. Other survivors include daughter, Joyce (Bill) Warshaw, Dodge City; son, William "Bill" (Sandie) Dunbar, Atchison; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Coonce and Barbara Funk; and her beloved dachshund, Gretchen.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atchison. Inurnment will be in the Memorial Garden at the church.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
