Wilma Jean James, 77, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2004 at her home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1926 in Bone Gap, Illinois, the daughter of Homer William and Viola E. Gill McKibben. She graduated from Mt. Carmel, IL High School in 1944.
Mrs. James lived for several years in Enid, Okla.where she worked as a houseparent for the Enid School for the mentally ill. She came to Topeka from Manhattan.
Survivors include her children, Don Gines, Dennis Gines, Sharon Musberger, Linda Sager, Owen Fry, Bob Fry, Marvin Fry, Angela Trout, Jack James, Jr., Ronnie James, Sr., LaDonna Harris, sister, Mary Lou Pfeiffer, and several grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thom Phillips and a sister, Kathleen Cabbiness.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
