Wilma Jean Wilch, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born on July 2, 1923 in Oskaloosa, Ks., the daughter of Joseph and Muriel Williams Sloop. Wilma graduated from Oskaloosa High School and attended Washburn University. She was employed by McElroy's Inc. for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of the Highalnd Park United Methodist Church, Topeka Arab Shrine and the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She married Herbert N. Wilch on March 20, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death in January of 1976. Survivors include one daughter, Jane Smith of Topeka, one son, Steve Wilch of Elsberry, MO, grandsons, Patrick Smith and Morgan Wilch and one granddaughter, Jody Johnson and four great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services wil be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
