Wilma Owens

Wilma "Jean" Owens, 68, Meriden, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at a local hospital.

Jean was born December 12, 1937, in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Pauline Hurst. She attended Monroe High School.

She married Jim Roger Owens in April, 1955. He died in 1983.

Jean and her husband lived in Southern California most of their lives. She moved to Kansas in 2004 to be near her oldest daughter.

Survivors include her children; Vickie Galle, Meriden, Karen Alvarez, Buena Park, California, Rebecca Baez, Sanford, Florida, Jessie Lundelius; grandchildren, Adam, Kelly, Susanna, Georgie, Racquel, Mike and Paula; and several great grandchildren.

Jean was cremated and a Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Meriden Community Church, 200 S. Dawson, Meriden, Kansas

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
