Wilma "Lorene" (Bennett) Patton, 87, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
She was born April 8, 1925 in Eskridge, KS, the daughter of Harold & Beth (Reynolds) Bennett.
Wilma was a graduate of Eskridge Rural High School.
Mrs. Patton was an Avon representative for many years.
She enjoyed music and singing in the choir. She was an accomplished seamstress, who also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She was a member of the Crestview United Methodist Church.
Wilma married Loren A. Patton on January 20, 1945 in Eskridge, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Claudia (George) Warren of Topeka, Donna Clark of Topeka, Nancy (Tom) Logan of Manhattan, and Troy (Lynn) Patton of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Marcy (Andy) Sandberg, George Warren, Jared (Holly) Clark, Brandon Clark, and Ryan Logan; four great-grandchildren, Erin Clark and Nathan Clark, Maylee Warren and Reagan Sandberg; her brother, Max Bennett of Topeka.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Eskridge Cemetery, with a memorial service to follow at the Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 Eveningside Dr. Topeka, at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Patton will lie in state after 3 p.m., on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
