Wyona B. Skirvin
Wyona B. Skirvin, age 76, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her residence.
Wyona was born September 11, 1932 in Buffalo, OK to Warren and Jenny (Thornburg) Davis. She was the wife of the late William Clayton Skirvin. She retired after 21 years of service from American Book Bindery. Wyona was an active member of Crestview United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Wyona had a passion for her family's genealogy.
Survivors include her five sons, Bill (Deborah) of Burlingame, Jackie Ray of Topeka, Robert of Topeka, James of Topeka, John (Sherry) of Emporia, eight grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Wyona is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Clayton Skirvin, a daughter, Mary Ann Skirvin, and a brother, Dwight Davis.
Mrs. Skirvin will lie in state after 2:00 pm on Monday, May 25th, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, where the family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26th, 10:00 am, at Crestview United Methodist Church. Reverand Ron Schultz will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Skirvin family.
