Zelma Elizabeth Sedge, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born October 7, 1933 in Wellington, MO, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Helen (Graham) Bailey.
She and her husband owned and operated Sedge Janitorial Services for 27 years. She was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church.
Zelma married Lewis Jean Sedge on April 14, 1951. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2011. She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Wayne Sedge and her siblings, Joseph Eugene, George, Emery, Joyce and Mary.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Dean Sedge of Independence, MO, Richard Alan Sedge of Mayview, MO, Raymond Douglas (Joan) Sedge of Denton, TX, daughters, Helen Louise Sedge of Lawrence, KS, Susan Elaine (Pete) Cobb of Lawrence, KS, grandchildren, Lori Morgan, Amie Withers, Stefanie Hudson, Brent Douglas Sedge, Jessica Ashley Ozenbaugh; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Jocelynn, Luke, Blake, Grant, Lewis, Gregory, Rafael, Justyn; her siblings, Margaret (Hugo) Soendker, Judy (Howard) Helphrey and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Higginsville City Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo.
Zelma will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
