Jerome Vincent Trollan (Jerry) was born September 8th, 1943 in Elmhurst, IL. He passed into the arms of his Lord on the evening of Tuesday, July 18th, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Lorie, whom he loved endlessly. His children, Tammy (Kevin) Kulm of Topeka, KS, Jerome Vincent Jr. (Corissa) Trollan of Eagle River, WI, Michael (Regina) Trollan of Phelps WI, Suzanne (Steve) Horwath of Pelican Lake WI, David (Suzanne) Crabtree of Redmond OR & James Kreider of Crandall, TX. His siblings, Tim Trollan, Paul Trollan, and Eileen Lee. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristopher (Sam), Lukas (Hannah), Joshua (Jamie), Jakob (Ashlyn), Parker, Adrienne, Jeffrey (Bonnie), Amanda, Holly (Miles), McKenzie (James), Madison, Wallace, Christian, Declan and Michaela. His great grandchildren, Maddilynn, Kayden, Dezmond and James VI, Dean and a new great grandbaby in February, 2024. The mother of his children, Agnes (Ken) Wiedemeier who held a very special place in his heart. Many, many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vince & Lucielle Trollan. His sister, Madeline Hafenbreadl, brother Mark Trollan, and twin grandsons, Garrett & Cooper Trollan. Many other family members were waiting for him when he arrived at the gates of heaven including his best friends Jimmy Otto and Dale Duchow.
Jerry attended and graduated from Eagle River High School in Wisconsin on May 25th 1962. He was a sheriff’s deputy and an EMT. He went on to become a heavy equipment operator which is one of the reasons he moved to Juneau, Alaska in April of 1978, where he met the love of his life Lorie, they proceeded to be joined in marriage on June 2nd 1979. While in Alaska he continued his work in heavy equipment, then was hired as the Supervisor of the Juneau airport maintenance crew. He did get the opportunity to go fishing for salmon and halibut, baiting and pulling up king crab pots, he even got to moose hunt. In 1988 he returned to Wisconsin where he continued to work construction and also was the proprietor of Ten Point Bar and Jeannie and Lorie’s Country Kitchen restaurant. He was a member of the Harshaw Wonders snowmobile club and groomed the trails for the riders. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired to Topeka, KS with his wife Lorie and they would live there in the summer and winter in Yuma AZ. Jerry enjoyed social functions, golf, billiards, snowmobiling, Nascar and had a talent for woodworking.
Jerry was the most incredible father, husband, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. As shown by the many, many comments on Facebook of his passing and the countless messages, texts and phone calls to all of us. He will be remembered by everyone as someone who is first in line to help with a task and would give anything he had to help someone else. He made friends absolutely everywhere he went. He couldn’t walk into a store without talking to at least one person and making a 10 minute trip to Walmart take a half hour or longer.
Our family wants to thank everyone who prayed for him. Jerry had a strong faith and he heard each and every prayer you said! Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts.
