Raymond Clark “Ray” Byrne, 55, of Carbondale, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was born March 24, 1968, in Taylorville, Illinois, the son of Raymond Donald and Eugina Ann (Stewart) Byrne.

Survivors include three children, Raymond (Brittany) Byrne of Carbondale, Chris Byrne of Topeka and Vicki (Clayton) Welch of Flippin, AR; and four grandchildren, Rylee, Dawson, Skyla and Kayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Raymond loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and spending time by the ocean.

Honoring his request, cremation is planned. A private ceremony will be held. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Raymond D. Byrne.
