James Clarence Buckle Sr., 86, of Melvern, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was born October 28, 1936, in Colony, Kansas, the son of Thomas and Fannie (Blandford) Buckle. He attended Allen County Junior College. He served in the army from 1957 to 1961.

Jim was employed as a clerk by the Santa Fe Railroad for many years.

Jim was a member of the Lions Club of Colony and the American Legion in Topeka.

Jim married Donita McMillan on August 19, 1962 in Williamsburg, Kansas; they later divorced. He then married Emma Osborne. She survives, along with his children with Donita, Katherine Anne Tilley (Michael) of Manhattan, Kansas and son James Clarence Buckle Jr. (Kelly) of Addison, TX; sister Ivy Lankton (Ralph) of Kingman, Kansas; and his dog CeCe. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Jim enjoyed baseball, basketball, and farming.

Per his request, Jim was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Colony Cemetery at 11590 SW Jefferson Road in Colony at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
