In Memory Of
Darla J. Reust
1959 - 2023

Darla Jeanette Reust (Brumbaugh), age 63, of Topeka, KS, passed away on August 3, 2023 following a short but fierce battle with cancer.

Darla was born to Billy and Margaret Brumbaugh on August 4, 1959, in Belton, Missouri. The family moved to Olathe, KS, and at a young age, Darla moved to Topeka, Kansas where she eventually started her family. Darla is survived by a former spouse, Ron Reust, her two sons, Paul and Tony Reust, and her grandchildren, Scarlett and Ronan. She is also survived by siblings Ronda Brumbaugh, Rita Brumbaugh, Shawn Brumbaugh and Billy Brumbaugh. Darla’s parents preceded her in death.

Darla was a loving mother, a helpful neighbor, a great co-worker, and a special friend to many. Darla worked for the local utility company for 30 years and took pride in the company she worked for, the roles she fulfilled, and the “work family” she developed there. Darla loved to cook and made meals on a regular basis to share with her sons and grandchildren. She was always mindful of who didn’t like what, and favorite desserts so that everyone really enjoyed what she made and would want to take home any leftovers. Darla loved God, family, and friends, and most precious to her were her grandbabies.

Services will be held at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS on Friday August 11, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
