Charles W. Vitt, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. He was born April 10, 1938 in Walnut, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Alice (Hosey) Vitt.

Charles attended Walnut, Kansas schools and graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School. He was a cattle rancher and always raised a large garden that he loved to share with others.

Charles met Marcia Nordstrom at a country dance in Lawrence, Kansas in August 1996 and have been together ever since. She survives at the home. Other survivors include three children, Janice (Les) Kimrey of Edna, Kansas, Joyce (Roger) Rosson of Edna, Kansas, Janey Higginson (Tim Almond) of Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and his three siblings, MaryRita Davied of Oklahoma, Clarice (Don) Davied of Greenbush, Kansas and Ken (Sam) Vitt of Lebo, Kansas.

Charles was preceded in death one son, Joe Vitt, and his siblings, Leonard Vitt and Regina Jean Simoncic.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery southeast of Topeka.
