Deloris Kay Olson Wilkins passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 in Chapman, Kansas. Kay, as she was called, most of her life was born on June 3, 1936, in Manhattan, Kansas to Joe and Lucy Enlow. She grew up in Wamego, Kansas with her three sisters, Laura, Barbara, and Mary. She graduated from Wamego High School in 1954 and moved to Topeka, Kansas where she spent most of her life.

Kay married Albert Olson in 1955 and their union produced two children, daughters Charmin and Karon. She was a homemaker, para educator and volunteered in various capacities in Topeka. She enjoyed taking care of her family and neighbors, loved cooking, attending civic events, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband Albert died in 2000.

She later married Ernest Wilkins, and moved with him to Chapman, Kansas, his boyhood hometown. Kay enjoyed traveling with Ernie and socializing with friends. She attended Chapman United Methodist Church.

Survivors include Ernest Wilkins, daughters Charmin Olson, Olathe, Kansas, and Karon Olson McAtee and her husband Steve, Maple Hill, Kansas. Granddaughter Jennifer Brown and husband Seddrix, as well as great grandchildren Kayden, Addyson, and Oaklynn of Olathe, Kansas. Kay’s grandson Cody Dawson and fiancée Breonna Adams and great grandchildren, Xavier, Alayah, and Amari, Olathe, Kansas. Kay’s sister, Laura Crabs of Manhattan, KS.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 27th at 11:00 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Topeka, Kansas. Dove Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapman Valley Manor Nursing Facility, 1009 N Marshall St, Chapman, KS 67431.
