Ralph Edward Hardan, 92, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, surrounded by family.

He was born October 18, 1931, in Brenham, Texas, the son of William and Elizabeth Hardan. He received an associate degree from Blinn College, Brenham, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Ralph was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Hardan was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Topeka for over fifty-two years.

Ralph married Frances (Frannie) Ann Klingsporn on February 2, 1958, in Brenham, Texas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughter, Diane Hawk (Terry) of Lawrence, Kansas, and son, Darryl Hardan of Parkville, Missouri, also two grandsons, Kaleb Hawk (Allison) and Taylor Hawk all of Prairie Village, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Irene Tegeler (Ernest), Chappell Hill, Texas and his brother, Ben Hardan (Alice), Brenham, Texas.

Ralph enjoyed trains, watching Gunsmoke, carpentry, remodeling his home, traveling, and wintering in Arizona, which he and Frannie enjoyed for over twenty-five years. He also liked spending time with his cat, Henry.

Honoring his wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, on Friday, November 3, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
