Lois Ann McDaniel, 89, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

She was born May 7, 1934, in Morrowville, Kansas, the daughter of Orloff and Beulah (Wilkinson) Lull.

Lois was employed by Hallmark Cards as a maintenance supervisor for 37 years.

Ms. McDaniel was a member of the Quilt Guild of Topeka.

Survivors include her children, Rita Smith (Kem) of Topeka, Shannon Shadix (Rodney) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Jeryl Shatswell Jr. of Topeka and Craig Shatswell of Oklahoma; grandchildren Kye Smith (Jenny Beaver), Craig H. Shatswell, Korey Smith (Lori Williams), Kacee Miller, Cali Miller, Kayden Smith, Kamryn Smith, Jamie Luis and Jonathon Shatswell; great-grandchildren Karson Smith, Harper Smith, and Harlow Smith; and sister Bonnie Lindsley. She was preceded in death by her longtime significant other Lee Horgan; her parents; sister Shirley Nutsch; and loved pets Daisy and Dapper.

Lois enjoyed quilting, KU Basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and especially spending time with all her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She loved country music and square dancing.

Lois was cremated. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, November 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7th at the Dove Southwest Chapel. Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery in Washington, Kansas at a future date.
