Georgia I. Rider, 72, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. She was born May 10, 1951 in Topeka, the daughter of George and Pearle (Kern) Rider.

Georgia graduated from Topeka High School in 1968 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Washburn University in 1972. She had resided in Lawrence and Topeka. Georgia was employed by Ramirez Law Office and the University of Kansas. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church and TOPS.

Survivors include her sister, Marian Ridley of Eugene, Oregon and two nieces, Julia Sherman (her husband Don) of Welches, Oregon, Linda Atwood (her husband Nick Atwood) of Winlock, Washington, nephew Arne Smith (and wife Shannon Smith) of Clovis, California, step-nephews, Bob Ridley, Rick Ridley, Jim Ridley, step-nieces, Sheila Danner, Meloney Ridley Wolfe, along with grandnieces & grandnephews (Dustin Atwood, Isaac Atwood (and wife Heather Atwood), Peyton Atwood (and wife Jamey Atwood), Treasa Smith, Michaela Smith, & Patrick Smith and & Kara Sherman), and great, great grand nieces and nephews (Jaylynn Atwood, Zoe Atwood, Xavier Atwood, Alexa Atwood and Zelda Atwood).

Georgia was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Rider, Harlan Rider, Eugene Rider and her step-niece, Teresa Ridley Greene.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. David’s Episcopal Church, 3916 SW 17th St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
