Vera M. Renchler, 97, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. She was born July 14, 1926 in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Lora (Wilson) Sutton.

Vera graduated from Hartford High School. She had resided in McPherson, Kansas and moved to Topeka 1966. She was employed by McPherson Citizens State Bank. She was employed by Commerce Bank & Trust and Village Cleaners in Topeka. She was a life-time member of the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Vera married Fred W. Renchler on October 19, 1947. They were married for 75 years. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2022.

Survivors include children, Jerry (Deborah) Renchler of Topeka, Sandy (Jim) Bumgarner of Topeka, two granddaughters, Jessica (Chris) Christie of Topeka, Kelsey (Mike) Wiber of Hurst, Texas and five great-grandchildren, Trenton, Jaxson, Reagan, Nolan and Aubrey.

A Celebration of Vera's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 2835 S.E. Croco Rd. Topeka where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 2835 SE Croco Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66605 or to the organization of the donor’s choice.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
