Sharyn Jean Finlay-Bitzer, 61, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, in her home in Topeka, KS.

She was born July 6, 1962 in Athens, Ohio, the daughter of Roger and Dee Ann (Ellis) Finlay and baby sister to Mark Finlay. She graduated from Athens High School where she blazed trails by being the first female cross-country member in the school’s history; and later attended Columbus State, where she received an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. She spent many years in the beauty pageant circuit, collecting many titles including Mrs. Kentucky United States. She held various jobs in retail, substitute teaching and at the Elks Lodge in Crestline, California before retiring.

Sharyn loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed hiking, shopping, reading celebrity biographies and autobiographies, true crime, traveling, sports, and everything fashion and pageant related. She was a true sports fanatic and had her finger on the pulse of everything Ohio State, Cincinnati Bengals, LA Lakers, UK Basketball and even high school football.

Sharyn is survived by daughters Jill Warmke and Alexis Croushore of Las Vegas, NV; son Rex Milam of Crestline, CA; granddaughter Charlotte Stegenga of Las Vegas, NV; and nephews Greyson and Ellis Finlay.

She was preceded in death by her father Roger Finlay; mother Dee Ann Finlay; and brother Mark Finlay.
