Glenna D. Hurlbert, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was born February 5, 1934 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Harlowe O. and Pansy E. (Haworth) Wolfe.

Glenna graduated from Ozark High School in Ozark, Missouri and attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She enjoyed writing poetry, sailing and playing bridge.

Glenna married Bill Shrake. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kirk.

Survivors include children, Julie Shrake of Winsted, Connecticut, Tara Shrake of Topeka, and one granddaughter, Jessica.

A private Celebration of Glenna's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to any organization that supports Women’s Rights or advocates animal care.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
