Jack Morris McCord, 84, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

He was born June 14, 1939, in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Luther and Hallie (Davis) McCord.

He received a Bachelor Degree in Arts in 1970 from Fort Hayes Kansas State College. He served in the Army during the 1960’s

Jack was employed by the State of Kansas in various positions until retiring.

Jack was a member of the American Legion Post #400 in Topeka, the American Legion Post #173, in Hays, and the Arab Shriners, in Topeka.

Survivors include a frie3nd, Cathy Eicholtz; nieces, Karen (Larry) Tibbe and Sharon Crumpler; great-nephew, Chad (Kim) Mills; great-niece, Kristi Bergeron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Norman McCord and Carl McCord; and his sisters, Frances Earl and Mildred Mills.

Jack enjoyed collecting coins, socializing, talking politics, and making his famous blue cheese dressing.

Honoring his wishes, Jack was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, Kansas 66610. Jack will be laid to rest at Locust Hill Cemetery, Rush Center, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
