Paula K. Tajchman, 70, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born September 26, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Anna B. (Woods) Bodine.

Paula graduated from Topeka High School and earned her LPN Certification from Kaw Area Technical School. She was employed by Cotton-O’Neil Pediatric Care for over 40 years. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir for several years.

Paula married Lloyd A. Tajchman on September 21, 1974 in Herington, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include children, Wade (Kris) Tajchman of Topeka, Becky (Mike) Drews of Topeka, four grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Kaylee and Zoe, her mother, Anna B. Cousins of Topeka and her sister, Becky Cole of St. James City, Florida.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence E. Bodine and her step-father, Don Cousins.

Paula was a wonderfully strong woman. If you met her she was likely helping you in some way. She touched innumerable lives through her work as a pediatric nurse. She loved her family. She was a proud Mom and Grandma. She loved her kids and grandkids’ football, baseball, and soccer games. She wouldn’t miss a roller derby bout or wrestling match. She gladly watched nonstop plays, band concerts, and music programs. She was a Scout leader and legendary baker of pumpkin and pecan pie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen, Kansas. Burial will follow in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery. Paula will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Ronald McDonald House, 825 SW Buchanan St., Topeka, Kansas 66606 in honor of her deep love and care for children and families in the Topeka area.
