James Halladay, 73, of Silver Lake, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024.

He was born September 19, 1950, in Rahway, New Jersey, the son of James and Doris Ruth (Schwartz) Halladay. He graduated from Carterette High School in 1968 and attended Washburn University. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

James was self-employed, retiring from Billiard Doc in 2021. He was a karate instructor from the early 1970s.

James married Rosemary Bauer on April 5, 1993 in Elko, Nevada. She survives, along with his children Jamin Halladay; step-children Brett Thoms, Amanda Holmes and Melinda Price; grandchildren Allison Cummings, Alexsis Scheibe, Peyton Holmes, Damian Wulf, Paisley Wieland, Addilyn Wieland, Meadow Mills, A’mya Dawson, Kaya Thoms and Kira Thoms; his mother Doris Halladay; his brother Gordon Halladay; and his sister Patricia McDonald. He was preceded in death by his father James Halladay and three brothers, Robert Halladay, Glen Halladay and Wesley Halladay.

James enjoyed fishing, playing pool and his family.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
