Mary M. Schwindt, 69, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at a Topeka care facility. She was born February 5, 1954 in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of Wayne and Helen (Guynn) Mitchell.
Mary graduated from Topeka West High School in 1972 and graduated from Stormont-Vail School of Nursing. She was employed by Stormont-Vail Hospital for over 30 years. She also worked as a nurse and receptionist for Dr. Hedgegard and Dr. Jacoby as well.
Mary married Ronald E. Schwindt on November 23, 1974 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include children, Kelly Schwindt of Topeka, Greg (Amanda) Schwindt of Lyndon, Kansas, four grandchildren, Rayli, Remington, Gatlin and Barrett, her sister, Pat (Ed) Gaddie of Plainfield, Indiana and her sister-in-law, Ann Mitchell of Mississippi.
Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Jean (Dale) Page and Larry Mitchell.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held from 10:30 am - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Lake Shawnee Shelter House No. 6. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
