Albert Russell “Russ” Hook, Jr., 90 of Topeka, Ks. passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at a Topeka care facility. He was born November 21, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Albert Russell and Marjorie (Shannon) Hook, Sr.

Russ graduated from Highland Park High School and attended art school in Los Angeles, California. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Russ was employed by Dupont/Flexel for 38 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Town & Country Christian Church.

Russ married Wanda Ellen Anspaugh on March 15, 1958 in Topeka. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include children, Marvin J. Hook of Topeka, James R. “Jim” Hook (Shelly) of Topeka, Steven B. “Steve” Hook (Ona) of Overland Park, Kansas, William S. “Bill” Hook (Pam) of Topeka, eight grandchildren, Heather McHardie (Clay), Wade Hook, Michelle Root (Jason), Jessie Pickrell (Skee), Sam Hook, Stacey Hook, Deon Hook, Nathan Bretches, six great grandchildren, Jordon Root (Amayrany), Carson Root, Ezekiel Hook, Clarence Pickrell, Emme McHardie and Ollie McHardie, his companion of 12 years, Sharon Wellman of Meriden, Kansas and his siblings Gary Hook of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and David Hook of Topeka.

A Celebration of Russ’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Town & Country Christian Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Russ’s church, Town & Country Christian Church, 4925 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66614.
