Judy Ann Liesmann, 71, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

She was born September 3, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Vaughn and Jean (Huston) Tippit. She graduated Paola High School in 1970 and attended the University of Kansas.

Judy spent many years in education. She worked at Topeka Lutheran School while her children attended there. Later she was employed by Washburn University as a degree auditor where she completed her career.

Survivors include son, Brian Scott Liesmann (Colleen); daughters, Robin Eileen Liesmann and Heidi Christine Rookstool (Mike); grandchildren, Devin Charles Liesmann, Owen Wade Rookstool, Jacob Paul Liesmann, Christian Evan Rogel, Allie Christine Rookstool, Ethan Scott Liesmann, Tanner Michael Rookstool and Grant Jensen Rookstool; brother, Steve Tippit; and sisters, Nancy Kohl (Bill) and Jane Newman (Tom).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy enjoyed her books and spent countless hours reading. She was an avid KU basketball fan, potentially a bit too intense at times. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother (known as Nama) to her eight grandchildren. She attended numerous sporting events cheering them on and never missed a holiday gathering.
