Terry Maurice Muse, 80, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

He was born March 26, 1944, in Gallatin, Tennessee, the son of Claude and Ada (Thomasson) Muse. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1964 and attended Washburn University. He faithfully served in the Air Force from 1964 ~ 1968.

Terry was employed by Falley’s Food 4 Less for the majority of his working career. He later began working for Stormont Vail Hospital as a Transporter for 15 years.

Mr. Muse was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, of Topeka.

Terry married Melissa Ann Prettyman on July 14, 2011 in Allen, Texas. She survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Kimbir Ridgeway of Anna, TX; sons, Mitchel Muse of Woodland Park, CO, Brian (Latisha) Muse of Topeka, KS and David Muse of Missouri City, TX; daughters, Kayli Muse of Topeka, KS and Emilee Muse of Topeka, KS and brother, Frank Muse of Gallatin, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Krentz.

Terry was a true Southern Gentleman! He loved his southern cooking especially his homemade biscuits, Yum! He was an all around American; Home Coming King of his high school, Football Captain, lead guitarist in his high school band and true cowboy at heart. He embraced the ranch way of living; loved horses and was quite the collector of guns. He loved his family and was always involved in family events. He was the coach of his kids sports, a golfer, an avid Harry Potter movie and Dr. Pol watcher, cologne connoisseur, professional checkbook balancer and a lover of the mountains. Many nights you could find him swinging in his childhood porch swing enjoying a good beer.

Terry was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday March 30, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611.
