Lewana “Joann” Wangerin, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at a Topeka hospital. She was born October 18, 1936 in Moran, Kansas, the daughter of Charles A. and Doy F. (Chamblain) Guthrie.
Joann graduated from Seaman High School.
Survivors include children, William “Bill” (Gemma) Wangerin of Topeka, Terrie (Rick) Mobley of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Richard L. (Kathleen) Wangerin of Topeka, eight grandchildren, Colin, Morgan, Ricky, Michael, Brittney, Bryce, Caitlyn, Adrian, and four great-grandchildren.
Joann was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth P. Wangerin and her siblings, Robert Guthrie, Jerry Guthrie, and William “Bill” Guthrie.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.
