Betty Jean Huss, 82, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024.

She was born December 18, 1941, in Wetmore, Kansas, the daughter of Alva and Virgie (Merritt) Patch. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1959.

Betty was employed by the Kansas Corp. Commission for many years, until retiring.

Mrs. Huss was a member of Town and Country Christian Church, of Topeka.

Betty married Marvin Huss on August 26, 1959 in Holton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2018.

Survivors include son, Jeff Huss, grandchildren, Sam (Jenn) Huss, Joddie (Joe) Milavec, Lindsey (Jared) Harper, and Caleb Huss, and great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Rae and Rowan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Todd Huss, brothers, Irvin Bloom, Loren Bloom and John Patch, sisters, Kathryn Savage and Evelyn Hittle.

Betty loved her family and always made a point to attend her grandchildren’s events. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needle point and square dancing. She was known for her collection of clocks, cake decorating, love of puzzles and bingo. She loved traveling and camping. She and Marvin were avid winter Texans for many years.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00pm, Friday, April 19, 2024 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Betty will lie in state, Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.
