John E. "Ed" Lawson, 66, of Wakarusa, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born December 10, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Robert N. and Gladys N. (Wade) Lawson.

Ed graduated from Topeka West High School. He was employed in the residential construction framing field and worked for John Sacks Construction for several years.

Ed married Cindy M. Hennigan on September 24, 2007 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, John (Tami) Lawson Jr. of Garden City, Kansas, Eli Lawson of Wakarusa and his brother, Mark Lawson.

Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Lawson and Jeff Lawson.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. and will be announced as soon as possible. Private inurnment will take place in Isley Cemetery in Fairview, Kansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604 or to any other animal organization of the donor’s choice.
