1950 - 2024

Glenn Leroy Bulmer, 73, of Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 after a long progressive illness.

He was born July 9, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Glenn and Vinnie (Stockwell) Bulmer. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Washburn University graduating in 1972.

Leroy was employed by BSNF for 39 years, until retiring.

Mr. Bulmer was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, of Topeka.

Leroy married Wanda Idlet on January 20, 1973 in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include sons, Aaron (Jessica) Bulmer and Nathan (Monique) Bulmer, grandchildren, Preston, Alexandra and Drexel Bulmer, sister, Martha Taylor and nieces, a nephew and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Taylor.
Leroy was an avid sports fan. He always enjoyed watching sports whether in person or on TV, especially the Chiefs football, KU & Washburn basketball, and KC Royals baseball. He played baseball in high school, had season tickets to Washburn athletics, attended his children’s sporting events, had a vast collection of baseball cards, was faithful in his church, taught Sunday school, became an AWANA Director, and held season tickets to the New Theatre in KC. He loved to travel and in Leroy’s most recent traveling trips he went to Israel (Holy Land), went on an Alaskan Cruise, visited Disney World with his grandchildren and yearly attended Branson Live Productions. In his last 10-15 years he organized many annual family reunions on the Stockwell side. He put up with all his wife’s dogs and he loved them too!

Leroy was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am., Saturday, May 25, 2024, at East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66605. Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00am - 11:00am. The family requests that you wear your favorite sports apparel to the Celebration of Life service. Inurnment of the cremated remains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
