Santos L. Marquez, 88, of Topeka, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024.

He was born October 27, 1935, in Comerio, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan Luna Rivera and Faustina Marquez.

Santos was employed as a machinery operator by Prince Packaging for 35 years, retiring in 2006.

Mr. Marquez was a member of the Iglesia Hispana Manantial de Vida of Topeka.

Santos married Clemencia Marquez on November 18th, 1967 in Comerio, Puerto Rico. She preceded him in death in 2000. Survivors include his children Juan Marquez (Jeanette) of Kentucky, Jose Marquez (Mary) of Ocala, Florida, Maria Marquez of Topeka, Margarita Marquez of Ocala, Florida, Elizabeth Marquez (Hurl) of Tewksbury, Massachusetts and Jesus Marquez (Susan) of Lowell, Massachusetts; grandchildren Juan Jr. (Heather), Christopher, Joshua, Jason (Sarah), Santos, Rosie (Orvin), Iris, Nelson (Abby), Anthony, Liyana, Kelvin, Gage and Jasmine; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and grandson Nicolas.

Santos enjoyed playing the guitar, assisting in his church, and he loved his children and grandchildren (and great-grandchildren).

A funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. The family will receive friends at the Southwest Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iglesia Hispana Manantial de Vida, 553 NE Wilson Avenue, Topeka, KS 66616.
