Karlene M. Moore, 88, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born May 13, 1935 in Lawrence, the daughter of Howard M. and Ruth I. (James) Estelle.

Karlene attended Lawrence High School. She was employed as a keypunch operator at Merchants National Bank and later became office manager for her and her husband’s family business, Moore’s Demolition.

Karlene married Curtis S. Moore on September 23, 1960 in Lyndon, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Delmar (Barbara) Moore of Topeka, three grandchildren, Anisia, Pede and Diaalo, thirteen great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, her siblings, Loretta Carraher and Lynn Estelle, both of Lawrence and and a host of extended family and friends.

Karlene was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Clements in January 2000 and her siblings, Howard Estelle, Jr., Beverly King, Ermal Shepard, Norman Estelle, Everett Estelle and Kenneth Estelle.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the St. Mark's AME Church, 801 NW Harrison St, Topeka, Kansas 66608 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
