Ronald K. "Ron" Petrie, 73, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at a Topeka hospital. He was born April 15, 1951 in Topeka, the son of Bill and Barbara (Binkley) Petrie.

Ron graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Kaw Valley VoTech. He was employed as a Machinist by Berry Plastics in Lawrence. He was a member of Seaman Community Church.

Ron married Laura J. Olson on April 21, 1984 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Ashley (Wesley) Halsey of Columbia, Missouri, one son, Clinton “Baxter” Petrie of Kansas City, Missouri, two grandchildren, Madyson and Bryson, and his siblings, Brian Massey of Topeka, Brenda Sage of Topeka and Linda Reser of Topeka.

Ron was preceded in death by one son, Justin Petrie.

A private Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place in Topeka Cemetery at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
