Linda graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1966. She attended Washburn University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Emporia State University. She taught grades 4, 5 and 6 in Overbrook and later at a private school in Kansas City. She was an award-winning encyclopedia sales person and a great medical supply sales person.
Linda’s greatest achievement was Attic Salt Greetings, the International greeting card business which she started in Kansas City with eight employees before moving the business to Topeka and downsizing. Her brother, Steve assisted her with the business in various ways whom she also enjoyed having Sunday morning coffee with. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and KU fan.
Survivors include one child, Violet Bierley of Kansas City, Missouri, nephew, Travis D. Farrar of Topeka, granddaughter, Zelda Bierley and her sister-in-law, Marla Farrar of Topeka.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Steven L. "Steve" Farrar on January 26, 2020 and her beloved cat, Cooper.
Graveside inurnment services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 in Bethel Cemetery, Tecumseh, Kansas.
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will follow at the 785 Beer Company, 301 SE 45th St., Topeka, Kansas 66609.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
