John Martin Koch, 74, of Topeka, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 in his home.

He was born June 29, 1949, in Concorida, Kansas, the son of Maurice and Joanne (Begnoche) Koch. He graduated from Central High School in Salina.

John was employed by McFarland’s Restaurant and Brewster Place for many years, until retiring.

Mr. Koch was a member of the Christ the King Church, of Topeka.

Survivors include sister, Janelle (Kevin) Huurman, brother, Joe (Cheryl) Koch, sister, Joni Koch – Pfortmiller and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, James Michael Koch.

John enjoyed family, eating out, all Kansas team sports, and visiting outside with his neighbors.

A Catholic Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St # A, Topeka, Kansas 66614. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Salina, Kansas. A Rosary will be held as John lies in state from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Wednesday May 29, 2024 at the funeral home Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, Kansas.
