Pamela J. Oroke, 75, of Topeka, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 9, 2024 in her home after ongoing health conditions.

She was born April 26, 1949, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and De Lois (Berry) Anderson. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1967 and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Gerontology from Washburn University. She graduated college the same year her daughter Melissa graduated from high school, 1994.

Pamela was employed by the BNSF Railroad for many years until retiring. During her retirement years, she liked to volunteer at Doorstep, the Bar Association and Elections. She worked using her degree as the Activities Director for Brewster Place.

Mrs. Oroke was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, of Topeka, Chapter J. G. PEO, of Topeka, and the Bunco Group.

Pamela married Charles R. Oroke on June 14, 1969 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2020.

Survivors include daughter, Melissa Wallace; grandchild, Eden Wallace; sister, Linda (Dave) Charay; nephew, Jason (Justis) Charay; niece, Julie Charay (Jennifer Garcia); in-laws, Marsha & Bill Haag, Robert Oroke, and Charlene Bryan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles.

Pamela had a kind heart and loved cooking for everyone, especially the elderly and those in need. She enjoyed decorating and entertaining for her friends and family, gardening her tomatoes and cucumbers, playing Bunco and Canasta, going fishing, shopping, and living life to the fullest.

Pamela’s wishes were for cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st St, Topeka, Kansas. Interment of the cremated remains will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
