Samuel Reid “Sam” Asbury, 34, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024.

He was born July 15, 1989, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Terry B. and Vicki J. (Miller) Asbury. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School.

Sam was employed as an electrician, first in the automotive industry and then as a commercial and industrial electrician for Velocity Electric for over fifteen years.

Survivors include his parents Terry B. Asbury and Vicki J. Asbury of Spring Hill, KS; brothers Blake Asbury of Thousand Oaks, CA, Eric Asbury of Leawood, KS and Christopher Asbury of Mesquite, TX.

Sam enjoyed fishing and was a gun enthusiast. He loved dogs and motorcycles. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help someone else – especially with anything automotive or electrical. He was a respected mentor among his friends and coworkers. To describe Sam in a few words: loyal, resilient, generous, funny, smart and caring.

Honoring Sam’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 6th at 12:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 2649 SE 45th Street in Topeka.
