Ferne Lucille Koehler, age 93, passed away September 24th with family at her side.
Ferne was born April 12, 1922 in Whiting, KS to Charles and Dora (Marshall) Edds. She married Matthew C. Koehler on March 10, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon (Koehler) Rabe, on March 24, 1990, who she dearly missed.
Surviving family members include her son, Ron Koehler (Sherrie) of Phoenix, AZ; son-in-law, Charles Rabe of Oskaloosa, KS; granddaughters, Kelly Schuster (Troy) and Lisa Vinning, both of Topeka, and Krissy Moore (Terrence) of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Sharon “Mandy”, Mallory and Madison Schmidtlein; Christopher, Cameron and Brianna Schuster, all of Topeka, and Kaeli Moore of San Antonio, Texas.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Plaza West and Grace Hospice, many of whom were like family to Ferne.
A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
