Betty L. Murphy, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Chapman Valley Manor. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017, at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service 805 Caroline Ave. in Junction City. Burial will follow the service at Wreford Cemetery. Pastor Alan Estby will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Alzheimer's Association (Topeka Chapter, 3625 SW 29th St, Topeka, KS 66614).

Betty was born July 23, 1932, the daughter of Charles and Flora (Marshall) Miller. Betty has resided in Junction City since 1970.

Betty worked as a Cashier for Safeway Grocery Store and JC Penney in Junction City. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds.

She married E. Darwin Murphy May 24, 1953 in Osborne, Kansas.

Betty is survived by her husband E. Darwin of Chapman, KS; one son, Darrel Murphy; two daughters, Cindy Gardner and Kathy Upham all of Junction City, KS; two brothers, Robert Miller of Canton, GA, Edward Miller of Independence, MO; one sister, Thelma June Snyder of Odessa, MO; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Darren Murphy; brothers, Charles, Delmar and Eldon; sisters, Esther, Edith, Arlene and Marjorie.
